Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives Cast and Characters
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) stars Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis, Jennifer Cooke as Megan Garris and C. J. Graham as Jason Voorhees. Directed by Tom McLoughlin, it combines the familiar camp setting with a deliberately self-aware tone and a supernatural resurrection. Its cast must not be confused with the performers who played Tommy and Jason in earlier installments.
The three central roles
Thom Mathews plays the older Tommy, determined to prevent Jason from returning. Jennifer Cooke portrays Megan, the sheriff's daughter who becomes a crucial ally. C. J. Graham's imposing physical performance brings the revived Jason to the screen. The character of Tommy was played by Corey Feldman and John Shepherd in the preceding two films; the switch to Mathews does not signal a new character.
Supporting characters worth knowing
David Kagen plays Sheriff Garris, whose skepticism gives Tommy an obstacle even before Jason attacks. Rene Jones portrays Sissy, Kerry Noonan plays Paula, and Darcy DeMoss plays Nikki. The supporting cast includes Tom Fridley as Cort and Tony Goldwyn as Darren. These roles help distinguish Part VI's children-at-camp setting and police involvement from the earlier films' vacationing adults.
What makes this installment different
Jason's return is explicitly supernatural: Tommy's attempt to destroy the corpse goes wrong. The film treats that absurdity with a degree of humor while maintaining real danger. A cast article should note this tonal change because it explains why some fans remember the performers and supporting characters differently from those in the grimmer early sequels.
Crediting the right Jason
Kane Hodder did not play Jason in Jason Lives; his four-film run begins with Part VII. C. J. Graham receives the principal Part VI credit. Matching the actor to the correct installment is the main purpose of this page.
