Who does Carmen Electra play in Scary Movie (2000)? Explore her opening-scene character and the slasher films being parodied.
Who Does Carmen Electra Play in Scary Movie?
Carmen Electra plays Drew Decker in the opening sequence of Scary Movie (2000), a broad parody of the opening of Scream. The scene uses familiar suspense imagery and turns it into slapstick and deliberately outrageous jokes. Electra's character is Drew, not Sidney Prescott or Casey Becker from the original Scream. This guide covers that 2000 role and its context.
Why the opening feels familiar
The sequence deliberately recalls the famous phone-call-and-chase structure associated with Scream. Instead of delivering a straightforward slasher scene, the film exaggerates every convention: ominous dialogue, the masked pursuer and escalating physical comedy. Recognizing the source helps explain the joke, but the parody has its own fictional characters.
Cast distinctions
Carmen Electra plays Drew Decker; Anna Faris stars as Cindy Campbell, and Regina Hall plays Brenda Meeks. The filmmaker is Keenen Ivory Wayans. The 2000 cast should not be merged with Neve Campbell, Drew Barrymore or Courteney Cox's credits in Scream, even though the script imitates recognizable scenes.
How the sequence fits the film
Drew's opening establishes the parody style before the story follows Cindy and her friends. It signals that the movie is willing to imitate several contemporary horror hits without remaining faithful to any one franchise. The role is memorable because it immediately sets the audience's expectations for absurdity.
Is this the only Scary Movie appearance?
Electra has had later connections with the Scary Movie franchise, but that does not change the identification of Drew Decker in the first film. Searches for her 'Scary Movie scene' should always specify the production year if distinguishing the opening from newer cameo reports.
