The difference you feel immediately
The 16 Plus is wider and taller, so it creates more space for text and maps but requires greater thumb reach. Both have an OLED screen, and neither is a ProMotion 120Hz Pro model. A person who values lightweight pockets may prefer the 170 g regular 16; someone who works with lengthy messages or spreadsheets on the go may accept the 199 g Plus.
Camera hardware is not a reason to choose Plus
The standard iPhone 16 camera system is shared across these two models: a 48MP Fusion Main and an Ultra Wide camera. You are not buying an extra dedicated telephoto lens by moving to the Plus.
